Theo was certified by Watch My 6 Service Dogs as a psychiatric and mobility service dog.
Why Accessibility Unleashed?
“Travel shouldn’t be gate kept. It should be accessible for everyone, regardless of their (dis)abilities.”

Accessibility Unleashed
Everything I share on this site is from my own lived experience being a disabled traveller with a service dog.
I’m not a doctor, nor a service dog trainer. I recommend you seek those people out specifically for diagnoses and training.
I do what I can to break down barriers to this information and make it less scary for individuals living with a new diagnosis, wanting to travel, or who are navigating the complex world of service dogs.
Please always speak to a medical professional and/or a licensed trainer for specific advice for your circumstances.
Hi! We’re Nina & Theo

I’m Nina and this is my incredible service dog, Theo.
Together, we’ve flown over 30 times, road-tripped for 6+ months, and explored places like Canada, the US, and Mexico.
As a disabled traveler, I’ve faced my fair share of red tape and barriers—moments that almost made me quit.
But Theo changed everything, making travel accessible and empowering me to see the world.
Now, I’m here to help others with disabilities do the same.

Why Accessibility?
I’m disabled and realized there isn’t enough representation for disabled travellers out there. Here are some of my diagnoses:

Did You Know?
- Around 1.3 billion people live with some form of disability.
- In the USA alone, disabled travellers spent $58.7 on travel in 2018-2019
- 40% of travellers with mobility disabilities have had their mobility aids lost of damaged by airlines.
- More than 54% of travellers with disabilities were given rooms at hotel check-in that didn’t accommodate their disabilities.
- The average cost of training a service dog is $10-20,000 USD.
- 50% of Canadian service dog handlers report experiencing discrimination in public.
- Disabled travellers cancel 1 to 3 trips per year due to concerns about their mobility devices and inaccessibility at airports.
- The majority of people will become disabled in their lifetime.
These stats make it clear that disabled travellers are still facing huge hurdles, from extra costs to accessibility barriers.
